About the company

HRJ Foreman Laws Solicitors was established by the merger of two of Hertfordshire's leading legal practices in April 2013: HRJ Law (formerly Hawkins Russell Jones and Foreman Laws. In October 2019, we merged with Railton Law of Letchworth Garden City.

Our combined history goes back as far as the 16th century, and we’ve continued to grow ever since.

The firm was founded in 1591 by John Skynner, a native of Norwich. After a partnership with the influential solicitor and "King of Hitchin”- John Hawkins in 1832, we became known as Hawkins & Co and are one of the oldest law firms in the country.
